Birdcages are one of my favourite decor items not only for home but for weddings as well. You could decorate with candles, flowers, white flickering lights, vintage books, or any pretty little items you might find at markets. If you could manage to find a different birdcage for each table it would give your wedding a totally unique and different look. Another idea is too use the birdcage as your card holder. Look at garden centres and markets and who knows, you might be lucky. I know I would love to have one.
